Summer is here and sometimes you just want to lay back, relax, and watch a really good movie. So whether you like romcoms or horror, here is my list of the best movies to watch during the summertime:

 

Dirty Dancing

“Nobody puts Baby in a corner.” Arguably one of the most legendary dance movies, Dirty Dancing features Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in a film about true summer love.

Pulp Fiction

Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Travolta are just some of the iconic actors featured in this film filled with gangsters and femme fatales. Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece will make you want to put on a seductive wig and stilettos and dance all day long.

Audrey Hepburn channels her inner European Princess and lets loose with Gregory Peck in one of the most romantic and aesthetically stunning films of all time.

 

 

 

City of God

In this Academy Award-nominated film, two boys deal with the pressures of gang wars and drugs in a low-income Brazilian neighborhood.

 

 

Grease

Grease is the ultimate 70’s feel-good movie that will make you believe in summer love again. Featuring John Travolta and Olivia John Newton, this musical features prepped up girls and edgy greasers.

 

 

Scream

Scream is one of the most iconic horror movies in a lasting franchise. Not only will the plot twist shock you, but the jump scares and suspense will keep you up for days.

Girls Trip

If you want to laugh until you fall off the sofa, then watch this movie. The humor is impeccable and Tiffany Haddish’s performance was amazing. This heart-warming film is not only empowering for all women, but the moving sisterhood will make you want to grab all your friends and watch Girls Trip together.
